John 'Jack' Williams
Jack Williams is a professor in the Department of Geography at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and affiliate with the Center for Climatic Research. His general research areas are paleoecology, biogeography, and earth system science; most of his work studies vegetation dynamics during the large climatic, ecological, and anthropogenic changes from the last ice age to present. Research themes include novel climates and ecosystems, the causes and consequences of megafaunal extinction, and using the last deglaciation as a model system for improving the predictive ability of ecological forecasting models.
